2026 Trainees

Kuan-Hung Yeh

Biomedical Informatics PhD student (UCSD) specializing in advanced statistical modeling and causal inference using large claims and EHR datasets. Research focuses on generating real-world evidence to inform clinical decision-making, particularly in gastroenterology and cardiology.

Daniel Musachio

 

Bioinformatics PhD student interested in the intersection of precision psychiatry, health disparities, and trauma, specifically exploring why antidepressants are effective for some and not for others in understudied populations. 

Alexander Lo

 Alex is a medical student at UCSD. Originally from San Francisco, he was very excited to be able to continue his training in a location that offers virtually year-round sunshine and emphasizes equity across diverse patient populations. Alex is interested in pursuing a residency in Internal Medicine with long-term goals of a career in Cardiology. In his free time, he enjoys surfing, shopping, and exploring all the wonderful things that San Diego has to offer with his fiancée. 

Camille Settles

  Camille is an undergraduate in Data Science and Statistics at UC Santa Barbara spending summer 2026 at UCSD who has a passion for health equity, population health, and computational statistics, hoping to pursue a masters/PHD in biostatistics.  

2025 Trainees

Michael Iter: Bioinformatics PhD student interested in population health informatics, specifically in the contexts of risk modeling, tracking, and patient engagement. 

Ishani Ray – Interested in the intersection of health disparities, public health policy, and translational research, with the goal of pursuing an MD/PhD
